Räikkönen turns down NASCAR

Kimi Räikkönen was expected to return to NASCAR for the last weekend's race at Watkins Glen. Turun Sanomat reports that the 2007 F1 champ was persuaded to take the wheel after one of the Sprint Cup drivers was injured and his car offered to Räikkönen. Kimi wasn't interested in NASCAR.
- I just didn't want to go there. Besides, the race was rescheduled for a later date, and I wouldn't have made it back here to Germany for Tuesday to prepare the pace notes, Räikkönen tells Turun Sanomat.
In the future Räikkönen may yet be seen in the NASCAR series. At any rate, should he want to, he could drive there.
- I don't know. We'll have to see. I'd get there if I wanted, but like I said, I haven't thought about next year at all.
